Additional Measures For Security Level II
1. Identification Procedures
A. No additional procedures.
2. Access Controls
A. Extra staff/security personnel should be made available at short notice.
B. All visitors, contractors, vendors, and other terminal guests should be escorted to their destination. The escort may be a company employee or security officer. Cruise Terminal passenger guests should not be allowed into Restricted Areas. C. Random (50%) X-ray of checked baggage should be conducted (Cruise Ship Terminals Only).
D. Additional explosive screening(s) of baggage should be conducted (Cruise Ship Terminals Only).
E. All deliveries, articles, packages, bags, etc entering the facility should be inspected. Passenger ships which have had their bags, stores, etc., inspected at another location and brought to the ship in bond or under lock and key may not need to be reinspected.
F. No boarding ladders or gangways should be left lowered on the offshore side of vessel. Side ports should be closed and secured when not in use.
3. Internal Security
A. Random (at least 10 %) searches of vehicles (private or commercial) entering the facility property (including the contents of such vehicles) should be conducted. Vehicles exiting may be searched.
B. A shore side security watch should be maintained.
C. The frequency of roving security patrols should be increased paying particular attention to restricted areas, terminal perimeter and waterside access areas.
4. Perimeter Security
A. Adequate measures should be taken to secure restricted areas.
A. Adequate illumination of outboard side of vessel from waterline to the main deck should be provided.
6. Security Alarms/Communication Systems
A. All security communications should be tested at every change of watch and at increase of security level.
7. Training of Security Force and Threat Awareness for Employees
A. Emergency contingency plans should be reviewed as appropriate.
